AccountsOS was founded in late 2025 by serial founder Paul Gosnell (previously Tent & Bear, Fitlink) after he set up a UK limited company and found existing tools assumed users were already accountants. The product launched in early 2026 as an AI-native, agent-first accounting system built on a real double-entry ledger, with Finn as the customer-facing AI accountant. It scaled quickly from UK-only to 26 country-specific tax regimes within its first year, targeting founders, sole traders and small accountancy practices displacing Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
