The story

Zimplifica started as a fintech technology studio within the Netcom Business Group, building bespoke mobile/web apps and banking solutions for the Costa Rican market. After spending nearly two years attempting to gain SINPE access through partnerships with local cooperatives and banks — none of which materialized — the team made the pivotal decision to seek direct regulatory authorization from the Central Bank of Costa Rica (BCCR). This resulted in Zimplifica becoming a licensed Payment Service Provider with direct SINPE connectivity, operating Resource Management Accounts (CAR) with 100% of client funds custodied at the BCCR. The company now positions itself as a regulated fintech infrastructure provider rather than a traditional bank, and also sells the underlying platform to other fintechs as a BaaS layer.
