The story

Zelf launched in 2020 as a 'messenger bank' targeting Gen Z in Spain and France, issuing virtual Mastercards through WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger and Viber and hitting 260k+ card pre-orders. That neobank product did not scale and the New York-incorporated Zelf Technologies Inc. pivoted entirely — first toward content-commerce (shoppable social posts) and then to an AI-driven TikTok consumer-insights platform. The current Zelf (hellozelf.com) is a SaaS analytics tool with no embedded finance product; the earlier card program appears to have been wound down.
