Yepzy

Can a purpose-built neobank for unbanked agricultural guest workers replace predatory check-cashing and wire-transfer fees by embedding employer-sponsored financial benefits directly at the worksite?

The story

Yepzy was founded in 2021 to address the financial exclusion of H-2A guest agricultural workers in the United States — a segment largely ignored by traditional banks. Rather than building a generic neobank, the company designed its product specifically around the workflow of growers and their seasonal guest employees, offering employer-sponsored financial benefits including direct deposit, debit cards, and low-cost international remittances. The embedded finance stack is deliberately thin: Thread Bank provides the BaaS backbone, Visa provides card network access, and Ria Money Transfer powers cross-border remittances — allowing Yepzy to stay asset-light and compliance-lean while serving a hard-to-bank demographic.
