Uqudo

Can a MEA-specialist identity verification company expand from KYC onboarding into the full trust-and-compliance stack — fraud, AML, and transaction monitoring — to become the default identity OS for regulated enterprises across the Middle East and Africa?

The story

Uqudo originated as an identity consultancy delivering large-scale national identity programs for governments and regulators across MEA. It then pivoted to become a B2B SaaS identity-verification platform, positioning itself as the MEA-focused alternative to global IDV vendors with deep regional document and language coverage. Over 2023–2025 it expanded its product surface area from KYC/document scanning into a full-stack Identity, Fraud & Compliance suite (AML screening, transaction monitoring, device intelligence, behavioral biometrics), pursuing the broader 'trust platform' narrative rather than remaining a point-solution KYC vendor.
