“Can Transfero become the single API layer connecting global companies to Latin American financial rails — fiat and crypto — without requiring a local banking license?”
Founded in 2015 as Brazil's first crypto payment gateway ('Bit.One'), Transfero merged with its Swiss entity in 2017 and relocated to Zug to gain a regulated, global-expansion foundation. The 2019 creation of BRZ — the leading BRL-backed stablecoin — transformed Transfero from a gateway into liquidity infrastructure. By 2020 it had begun building BaaSiC, a Banking-as-a-Service API layer that lets global companies embed Brazilian payment rails (Pix, accounts, KYC) and crypto services without needing a local Brazilian banking license, cementing its positioning as crypto-native embedded finance infrastructure for Latin America and cross-border corridors.
