Can a bootstrapped French accounting-SaaS company become the complete financial OS for French micro-businesses — invoicing, banking, payments, and compliance — without external capital?

The story

Founded in 2015 as an accounting-software provider focused on French experts-comptables, Tiime progressively added an integrated pro business account (backed by Treezor for BaaS) and open-banking bank-sync (via Powens) to become a full financial-OS for French micro-businesses and solopreneurs. In 2024 the company went fully free-to-use for invoicing and accounting, shifting monetisation to the embedded pro account and payment services. In April 2026 Tiime obtained its own payment institution licence from the ACPR, beginning a transition away from third-party BaaS dependency — a rare bootstrap fintech milestone achieved without external funding.
