“Can the operator of Brazil's largest shared ATM network reinvent itself as the country's neutral open-finance and CBDC infrastructure layer?”
Tecban was founded in 1982 as the operator of Banco24Horas, Brazil's largest shared ATM network. From 2019 onwards it explicitly pivoted from being a pure interbank/cash-logistics utility toward embedded financial infrastructure: HubDigital opened Banco24Horas to fintechs via APIs, Open Finance Tecban productized Brazil's open banking regulation as a service (built with Ozone API), and the company is now a lead participant in Brazil's DREX CBDC pilots. The 2025 AWS migration and rebrand mark its repositioning as a digital-and-physical infrastructure provider for the Brazilian financial ecosystem.
