The story

Sproom was founded in 2010 to bring e-invoicing to Danish SMBs at a time when the category was reserved for large enterprises with heavy, expensive software. The company built a lightweight platform on top of the NemHandel (Denmark) and PEPPOL (EU) networks and grew into one of the largest e-invoicing providers in Denmark. It was acquired by Visma and now operates under Visma e-conomic A/S — effectively a vertical e-invoicing/EDI module inside Nordics' leading business-software group. Sproom is not an embedded-finance product itself; it is adjacent infrastructure (invoice exchange / document EDI) that sits next to accounting and ERP systems.
