The story
Simplex was founded as an EMI-licensed fintech focused on fraudless fiat payment processing for crypto exchanges and online merchants. It became a key on-ramp for fiat-to-crypto transactions, partnering with major exchanges and wallets. The company was subsequently acquired by Nuvei, a publicly-traded payments company, and now operates as part of Nuvei's global payments infrastructure under the Lithuanian EMI entity UAB Nuvei. The Simplex brand continues to serve the crypto and digital asset ecosystem as a Nuvei-owned platform.
