“Can a travel-rewards currency reach escape velocity without issuing a credit card — monetizing affiliate/booking commissions and sharing them back as transferable airline miles?”
Founded in 2023 by two Wharton students after Max Morganroth concluded that ~70M Americans lack the credit history to access the best airline-miles credit cards. Rove's original pitch was a no-annual-fee travel credit card using cash-flow underwriting, but the executed product is a loyalty-currency platform — Rove Miles earned on hotel bookings (as merchant-of-record), flights, affiliate shopping, card-linked dining, and gift cards, transferable 1:1 to 21+ airline and hotel partners. The thesis: build a Chase Ultimate Rewards-style transferable-points economy without being a card issuer, monetized by affiliate commissions and travel margins passed back to users as miles.
Rove was founded by Max Morganroth and Arhan Chhabra and is founded in 2023, headquartered in New York, NY, United States.
Rove has raised $4.5M in total (latest round: Seed, March 2026 ($4.0M)).
