Qwiklabs launched in 2012 as an AWS-focused hands-on cloud learning platform and became Amazon's default self-paced lab provider. Google acquired the company in November 2016 to build out its own cloud training stack, and Qwiklabs was subsequently absorbed into Google Cloud Skills Boost. As a wholly-owned Google subsidiary, Qwiklabs' payments, banking, and compliance infrastructure sit within Google's broader corporate stack rather than being operated independently.
