The story

Founded in 2018 in Tunis, Paymee set out to simplify digital payments in Tunisia by building on top of the Société Monétique Tunisie (ClicToPay) infrastructure. The company expanded from a pure payment gateway to also offer Paylinks (for merchants without websites) and QR code payments (for physical stores), targeting the underserved Tunisian SME segment. It has remained a small, focused fintech with $1.1M in total funding and approximately 5 employees as of 2024.
