“Can a bankrupt legacy Brazilian telco reinvent itself as a B2B Tech services orchestrator for enterprises and government?”
Oi is a legacy Brazilian fixed-line telco (formerly Telemar) that has been in judicial reorganization since 2016 — the largest bankruptcy in Brazilian history. Under its recovery plan Oi has divested consumer businesses (mobile sold to TIM/Vivo/Claro; fiber/Oi Fibra sold and rebranded as NIO in 2025) and repositioned as 'Oi Soluções', a B2B Tech provider selling managed networks, cybersecurity, cloud, AI, UC&C, IoT and observability to ~43,000 Brazilian enterprises and government institutions. Oi has essentially no embedded finance surface — a legacy 2010 mobile-payment partnership with Banco do Brasil and Cielo (Projeto Milão) is the only historical fintech artifact and no longer material.
