The story

Founded in 1941 as a Dutch-era savings and deposit bank in Bandung, Bank NISP became part of Singapore's OCBC Group in 2008 (which now owns 85.1%) and rebranded to OCBC Indonesia in 2023. Historically a traditional SME-focused commercial bank, OCBC Indonesia is now pushing into embedded finance via a 2025 strategic partnership with Ant International — leveraging alternative-data credit scoring and automated decisioning to extend digital credit to Indonesian entrepreneurs and SMEs. The bank is also building out an open OCBC API channel to embed its banking rails into partner platforms.
