“Can a European PFM aggregator app become the mobile front-end for a consumer's entire banking life?”
Numbrs began in 2012 as a Swiss mobile-first banking aggregator app — a Mint.com-style dashboard with transactional capability, initially launched in Germany. After raising over $125M by 2017 (including from Dubai's sovereign wealth fund) and reaching unicorn status in 2019, the consumer PFM aggregator model faced pressure from PSD2-enabled competitors and neobanks. Public product footprint has since gone largely dark, and the trademark 'Numbrs' overlaps with unrelated fintechs (Numbrs Brazil, Numarics Switzerland) and the payroll platform Nmbrs (Netherlands/Visma) which appears more prominently in recent embedded-finance evidence.
