“Can a SAMA-licensed Saudi payment infrastructure company become the dominant rails provider connecting banks, enterprises, and platforms across the Kingdom and MENA?”
Founded in 2015 in Riyadh by Saudi engineers, Moyasar set out to build the digital payment rails for Saudi Arabia, starting with Mada Online acceptance at a time when local card schemes lacked robust gateway support. Over time the company expanded from a merchant-facing payment gateway into a full payment infrastructure layer serving banks, financial institutions, and platforms — earning direct licensing from SAMA and launching specialized products like split payments, tokenization, and the Moyasar Payment Gateway (MPG). The 2025 MPG launch, which completed all SAMA technical permits for the new e-commerce interface, marks Moyasar's evolution from PSP to infrastructure provider for the broader Saudi digital economy.
