Moorwand

Can a UK FCA-authorised EMI combine card issuing, multi-currency banking rails, and managed compliance into a single regulated wrapper that lets fintechs and programme managers launch payment products without needing their own licence?

The story

Founded in 2013 as a UK-regulated Electronic Money Institution, Moorwand initially focused on card issuing and BIN sponsorship for fintechs. It expanded into a broader BaaS proposition with multi-currency accounts (GBP and EUR IBANs), digital banking infrastructure, and card programme management. More recently it pivoted toward compliance-as-a-service, offering managed financial crime controls, eKYC onboarding, and sanctions screening layered on top of its core payments infrastructure — positioning itself as an end-to-end regulated wrapper for programme managers who need both the rails and the compliance overlay.
