The story

Started in 2015 as Chatteron, a horizontal chatbot builder in India. Repositioned as Leena AI in 2018 to focus specifically on HR chatbots and graduated Y Combinator. Between 2020-2022 broadened from HR-only Q&A into a full HR service delivery platform (case/knowledge/document management). Post-ChatGPT the company rebranded again around 'Agentic AI for the back office' — pre-built 'AI Colleagues' (Harrison for HR, Iris for IT, Fiona for Finance) that plug into 200+ enterprise systems of record. Notably, despite naming a 'Universal Finance Assistant', Leena AI is NOT an embedded finance company — Fiona automates AP/vendor workflows on top of the customer's own ERP; Leena itself does not move money, hold licenses, or process payments.
