The story

Konfío launched in 2013 as a data-first online lender to Mexican SMBs, using SAT tax data and credit-bureau signals to underwrite businesses underserved by traditional banks. After scaling working-capital lending (and powering PayPal's Working Capital program in Mexico in 2019), it expanded into an SMB financial OS — adding a Visa business credit card and, through the Sr. Pago acquisition, card-acceptance terminals and payment links under the Konfío Pagos brand. The strategy is now a multi-product SMB ecosystem (credit + card + acquiring) rather than a pure lender.
