“Can a digital freight marketplace unlock African logistics by embedding working capital and insurance directly into the driver workflow?”
Kobo360 launched in 2017 as a digital freight marketplace connecting African cargo owners with truck drivers. After Series A in 2019, the company built embedded driver-financing products (KoPay working capital, KoboSafe insurance, KoboCare) to serve its supply-side MSMEs — recognising that access to finance, not just matching, is the binding constraint in African logistics. The company has since focused on sustainable growth across Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Togo, Burkina Faso and Côte d'Ivoire, with recent turbulence including CEO turnover in 2024.
