“Can a Philippine fintech cash-lender become the default embedded credit layer across Southeast Asian e-commerce and super-apps?”
Founded 2018 as WeFund Lending Corp., JuanHand grew into one of the Philippines' largest pure-fintech consumer cash-loan apps, disbursing over ₱85B to 20M+ registered users. After surviving an NPC temporary processing ban in 2021-2022 over data privacy concerns, the company pivoted toward embedded lending — powering BNPL/cash loans inside Lazada (FastCash), TikTok Shop (PayLater), and Shopee. It is backed by FinVolution Global, a Chinese fintech parent, and increasingly partners with banks (Netbank, HSBC) for funding while distributing through ecosystem partners.
