InvoiceXpress began in 2009 as a side-project from Rui Alves' studio RUPEAL to make Portuguese tax-compliant invoicing simple. It became one of the earliest AT-certified cloud invoicing tools (certificate N.º 192) and grew to serve 25,000+ freelancers and SMBs in Portugal. In 2024 it was acquired by Visma Group, aligning it with Visma's broader Iberian SMB software roll-up strategy.
