The story

Founded in 2014 and operating in stealth for five years, Intergiro initially built a digital banking platform for businesses as a traditional-bank alternative, offering accounts, FX, card issuing, and card acquiring in one place. By 2022 it pivoted publicly to a BaaS-first model, positioning itself as a 'financial cloud' enabling other companies to embed banking services into their own products. The company expanded its embedded finance capabilities through partnerships (notably Currencycloud for multi-currency FX) and offered white-label banking, card issuing, acquiring, and API-driven treasury to fintech customers. In June 2025, the Swedish SFSA revoked its licence over AML administrative failings from 2021-2022, leading to bankruptcy filing in July 2025.
