The story

Founded in 2022 as a loyalty wallet for Simbisa Brands restaurant customers, InnBucks quickly disrupted Zimbabwe's cash exchange market before pivoting into a regulated deposit-taking microfinance institution. Over two years it layered personal lending, business banking, payroll services, cross-border remittances, and a debit card on top of its wallet rails, expanding via 500+ Simbisa outlets and third-party agent networks. In May 2025 it selected Mambu's composable cloud-native banking platform on AWS as the core infrastructure layer to underpin its ambition to become a fully integrated digital bank across Africa.
