The story
Goodtill launched as an independent UK-based cloud point-of-sale platform focused on hospitality and restaurants, partnering with Stripe to power payments. After being acquired by SumUp in 2021, the product was rebranded SumUp POS (later SumUp POS Pro), becoming the enterprise-tier POS offering within SumUp's broader SMB financial services ecosystem. The embedded finance layer transitioned to sit within SumUp's own payment and banking infrastructure over time.
