“Can a Nicaraguan microfinance lender become the dominant financial operating system for consumers and merchants by embedding credit, payments, factoring, and AI-driven recovery into a single affiliated-merchant network?”
Founded in 2015 as a store-financing microfinance operation serving 18 retail locations, FID evolved into one of Nicaragua's most influential microfinanceras. It built the Credex brand as a consumer credit and merchant-payments network spanning 1,000+ affiliated merchants. By 2025, FID had repositioned itself as a full-spectrum financial ecosystem — 'fintech ecosystem' — layering payments, FX, invoice factoring, credit cards, and an AI-driven debt-recovery platform (REDCO) on top of its lending core.
FID (Credex) was founded by Marcela Silva and is founded in 2015, headquartered in Managua, Nicaragua.
