“Can the underwriting-and-onboarding engine of a defunct direct SME lender be re-sold as the lending OS that incumbent banks need to launch digital credit?”
ezbob began in 2011 (as Orange Money Ltd) as an alternative digital lender to UK SMEs, building its own automated underwriting engine and reaching top-3 UK SME lender status by 2015 with £1B+ deployed from balance sheet. In 2017 it pivoted away from being a balance-sheet lender into a B2B SaaS 'Core Lending Platform' sold to banks, PSPs, and marketplaces — effectively productising the underwriting, onboarding, open-banking data pulls and loan management stack it had built for itself. Today it is an embedded-finance infrastructure vendor, not a lender, with customers including Santander and Intesa Sanpaolo.
ezbob's lending and capital products are provided by ezbob Core Lending Platform (in-house).
ezbob was founded by Tomer Guriel and is founded in 2011, headquartered in London, United Kingdom.
