The story

Founded 2000 as a P&C insurance core software provider (policy, billing, claims, rating). Went public in 2020 on the strength of cloud-native SaaS core (OnDemand). Taken private by Vista Equity Partners in 2023, followed by the Imburse acquisition — a Zurich-based payments-orchestration platform — which rebranded to Duck Creek Payments. The current pivot is toward the 'Intelligent Core of Insurance': embedding payments, agentic AI workflows, and an integration marketplace on top of the core policy/billing/claims stack. Payments is now a strategic growth vector via a Payments Facilitator (BaaS + FedNow + push-to-card) and a Payments Orchestrator abstraction layer over global PSPs.
