The story

Debtist was founded in 2023 by ex-McKinsey consultant Matteo Benedetti as a digital-first debt collection agency serving B2B and B2C in Germany and Europe. Rather than competing head-on with legacy collection agencies, Debtist embeds its receivables-management workflow into vertical SaaS platforms, marketplaces and PSPs (notably Stripe and iwoca) so SMEs can recover unpaid invoices without leaving their primary tool. The company reached roughly €12M ARR within ~2 years and reports profitability.
