The story

Contis was a UK/EU payments infrastructure provider offering B2B card issuing, processing, and prepaid card programs to fintechs and program managers. Operating as a Principal Member of both Visa and Mastercard, it powered white-label card programs for clients including Wirex, Plutus, Ffrees, Engage, and Trilogy. It expanded into FX via Currencycloud and opportunistically onboarded Wirecard refugee programs in 2020. The business entered special administration in January 2025, with customer accounts frozen and an insolvency process initiated by Interpath Advisory.
