Founded 2018 as a digital bank account for Brazilian SMBs, Conta Simples pivoted toward a corporate-card + expense-management vertical (the 'Brazilian Brex/Ramp') with strong traction among digital/ads-driven businesses. The 2023 SCD license from Banco Central was a meaningful infrastructure shift — it allowed the company to stop renting credit rails from partners and originate its own credit products. The 2025 Conta Simples Global launch (via Airwallex) extended the platform into multi-currency for digital businesses hit by Brazil's IOF tax environment.
