The story

Founded in 1996 in Oslo as an invoice-management vendor for Norwegian enterprises, Compello built a cloud P2P / AP automation suite over two decades. In 2020 it was acquired by Visma and absorbed into the Visma group's security, compliance and shared-services infrastructure (VASP program, Visma Trust Center), while keeping its own brand. The 2026 push into AI agents (Compello Agents) is the current strategic bet — moving from rules-based invoice capture to autonomous agent-driven AP processing with a stated 80% automation guarantee.
