The story

Founded 2011 as a consumer ITR (income-tax return) filing tool, ClearTax pivoted decisively into B2B tax-tech after India's 2017 GST rollout, becoming a leading GST Suvidha Provider (GSP) and IRP. In 2021-22 it rebranded to 'Clear' and repositioned as a 'connected finance cloud' spanning e-invoicing, TDS, accounts payable, invoice discounting (Xpedize), and vendor management for large enterprises. In 2025 it sunset the CA/SME GST offering and migrated those users to Zoho/OctaGST/Computax — a clear upmarket move to focus on enterprise finance workflows and international e-invoicing (Saudi Arabia, UAE, France, Malaysia).
