The story

Founded in 2017 as a decentralized oracle network solving the 'oracle problem' for smart contracts, Chainlink grew to become the dominant price-feed infrastructure for DeFi. By 2023–2024 it pivoted decisively upmarket toward institutional capital markets, launching CCIP for cross-chain interoperability, and then a full institutional stack (CRE, Privacy Standard, ACE, DTA, DataLink, SmartData) aimed at tokenized asset workflows, stablecoin settlement, and regulatory compliance for TradFi institutions. Today Chainlink positions itself as the all-in-one oracle and orchestration platform enabling the convergence of traditional financial market infrastructure (Swift, DTCC, Euroclear, J.P. Morgan) with on-chain markets.
