The story

Founded as a traditional catering and event management software company (operating as Horizon Business Services, Inc. dba Caterease Software), Caterease served more than 50,000 caterers and event planners for roughly three decades. The company pivoted aggressively toward embedded finance starting around 2024, migrating to Worldpay for Platforms' PayFac-as-a-Service model to embed payments directly into its onboarding flow — reporting 2-3x payments revenue growth and 30x revenue expansion from existing customers. This was followed by the launch of Mosaic (HPay), a Caterease-branded banking product backed by JPMorgan Chase, and a Working Capital lending product, positioning Caterease as an embedded financial services provider within the hospitality vertical.
