The story

CashMe was incubated in 2017 as a financial-solutions unit inside Brazilian homebuilder Cyrela and spun out in 2018 as a home-equity-focused fintech. Rather than operate as a licensed lender, it structures itself as a Banking Correspondent (Correspondente Bancário) under BACEN Resolution 4.935/2021, originating loans on behalf of two chartered financial institutions — BMP Sociedade de Crédito Direto and OXY Companhia Hipotecária. The strategic thesis: leverage Cyrela's real estate expertise to dominate Home Equity in Brazil, a category historically underserved by incumbent banks.
