The story

CardConnect began as FTS Holding Corporation, a full-service electronic transaction processing provider, before being rebranded under Fintech Acquisition Corp in 2016. Acquired by First Data Corporation (later Fiserv) in 2017 for $750 million, it became part of the broader Fiserv payments platform. Its core differentiation is the CardPointe/CardSecure stack—offering patented tokenization, P2PE, and an ISO/agent partner program on top of Fiserv's acquiring infrastructure. The company now operates as Fiserv's ISO-channel and software-platform payments arm, offering embedded merchant financing (Clover Capital), developer APIs, and QuickBooks accounting integrations.
