Can Brink's transform its physical cash-handling monopoly into a vertically integrated financial services platform — offering credit, payments, and banking services — to the retail and SMB clients who already trust it with their cash?

The story

Founded in 1859 as an armored courier and secure transport company, Brink's evolved through the 20th century into the dominant cash-in-transit and ATM services provider globally. Beginning around 2018–2021, Brink's executed a significant pivot toward embedded financial services: acquiring Payment Alliance International, launching prepaid Mastercard products under the 'Brink's Money' brand, and introducing Brink's Complete — a SaaS-style subscription cash management platform. The most notable embedded finance move is Brink's Capital, which provides provisional working-capital credit against cash already deposited in Brink's hardware, effectively making Brink's a lender to retail cash-handling businesses and reducing those businesses' dependency on traditional bank credit lines.
