The story

Founded in 2017 as Qoqoon UK, Birdie rebranded and focused exclusively on building SaaS tools for home care agencies — digitising paper records, enabling carer check-ins, and managing regulatory compliance. After establishing a strong UK foothold (~700 care businesses by 2022), it raised a $30M Series B to expand into continental Europe. The embedded finance angle emerged as Birdie recognised that cashflow pressure on its care-provider customers was a major pain point; in 2025 it partnered with TRIVER to embed invoice financing directly into its platform, moving beyond pure SaaS towards a financial-services-enabled vertical platform.
