The story

Founded in 2002 as a hospitality-focused procure-to-pay platform, BirchStreet spent two decades building the eProcurement + AP automation layer for hotels, resorts, casinos, and F&B operators. Serent Capital's 2017 Series A and Parthenon Capital's 2021 growth investment funded international expansion and vertical M&A (ReactorNet 2024, Cedar Creek 2025). The strategic shift into embedded finance came with BirchStreet SmartPay / BirchStreet Pay — a managed B2B supplier payments product that monetizes virtual cards and ACH via interchange rebates on top of the existing P2P workflow, turning what was a SaaS company into a payments-adjacent hospitality operations platform.
