The story

BioTrack is a vertical SaaS company for the cannabis industry, founded 2010 in Fort Lauderdale. Its core product is seed-to-sale inventory tracking and a dispensary POS system, sold to both operators and state regulators as a traceability system. Its embedded-finance angle is narrow but strategic: because cannabis is federally illegal in the US, Visa/Mastercard rails are closed to dispensaries, so BioTrack layered a cashless ATM / point-of-banking solution ('BioTrack Pay') into the POS to displace cash-only operations. No banking, lending, payroll, or open-banking depth — the stack is deliberately shallow because the underlying rails are constrained.
