Bind (Argentina)

Can a century-old Argentine bank transform itself into the dominant BaaS and PSP-as-a-service infrastructure layer for Argentine fintechs and enterprises, competing with neobanks by licensing its regulated rails and payment stack rather than serving end consumers directly?

The story

Founded in 1928 as Banco Industrial S.A., a traditional Argentine commercial bank serving businesses. Over the past decade the group pivoted aggressively toward embedded finance and open banking: it launched BIND API Banco (claiming to be Argentina's first open-API bank) and built BIND PSP as a fully managed PSP-as-a-service and digital wallet infrastructure play targeting fintechs and non-bank companies. Today Grupo BIND positions itself as a full financial ecosystem — combining its regulated bank licence, PSP licence, insurance, guarantees, leasing, brokerage, and fintech studio subsidiaries — to offer modular BaaS infrastructure to Argentine fintechs and enterprises at scale (340M+ transactions/month).
