“Can a German loan-intermediary platform become the credit-origination backbone for European consumer lending — sitting between retail/institutional capital and borrowers that traditional banks reject?”

The story

Founded 2007 as a peer-to-peer marketplace matching German retail investors with consumer borrowers. Over time institutional capital (via the 'Institutional Investing' channel) grew alongside retail lenders, and loans are originated on the balance sheet of German partner banks (SWK Bank named as cooperation partner) rather than by auxmoney itself — auxmoney holds a § 34c loan intermediary license, not a banking licence. The company has since positioned itself as the leading pan-European digital consumer-credit platform, adding an NL market and Kreditkarte distribution partnership with Advanzia Bank.
