Assembly Software is a 40-year-old vertical SaaS company for personal injury law firms formed by the 2019 combination of two legacy PI case management brands: Needles (founded 1985 as PINS) and Trialworks (founded 1996). The current strategic pivot is from legacy on-premise/desktop products to Neos, a cloud-native, Azure-hosted case management platform with embedded generative AI (NeosAI). Assembly is a pure vertical SaaS play — not a fintech — with embedded finance limited to third-party integrations (LawPay for ePayments, QuickBooks for accounting) rather than owned banking/lending/card infrastructure.
