“Can a small-business neobank survive corporate parentage changes by becoming an embedded-finance distribution layer for larger banks?”
Anytime started in 2014 as an independent French neobank for SMBs and freelancers. Orange Bank acquired it in 2020 to bolt SME banking onto the telco-fintech strategy, expanding the product from accounts/payments into expense management. When Orange announced its retreat from banking, Anytime was carved out — Orange entered exclusive talks with cooperative bank Crédit Coopératif in May 2025. Meanwhile Anytime's Romanian arm has begun distributing embedded insurance through banking partners (BRD/SocGen), signaling a shift toward B2B2C embedded finance distribution.
