“Can an immigrant-founded remittance company become the full financial OS — accounts, savings, and cross-border payments — for the African diaspora globally?”
Founded in 2020 as an immigrant-focused remittance platform for Africans in Canada, Africhange grew to serve users across Canada, UK, Australia, and Nigeria. In 2024–2025, the company pivoted beyond pure remittance toward becoming a full financial platform for the African diaspora — adding UK GBP bank accounts via Griffin's BaaS infrastructure, obtaining a CBN IMTO licence through its Nigerian subsidiary Currenzo, and launching a B2B payments product for cross-border business payments. The strategic shift is from 'cheapest remittance corridor' to 'financial home for Africans abroad.'
