The story

ACME was founded in 2013 by Ticketmaster and PayPal alumni as a modern cloud-based ticketing platform aimed specifically at museums, zoos, aquariums, and botanical gardens — a segment underserved by legacy admissions systems. Over time it layered in memberships, donations, and group sales to become an all-in-one commerce OS for cultural institutions. The most consequential embedded-finance move was becoming a registered payment facilitator and launching Embedded Payments, capturing the payment processing margin that had previously flowed to third-party gateways. ACME was subsequently acquired by Peek, positioning it inside a broader attractions/experiences commerce group.
