The story

Founded in 2006 from the merger of Guatemala's two largest ATM networks, 5B initially focused on ATM operations and interbank connectivity. Over time, it expanded into a full payment infrastructure provider, adding card processing (credit, debit, prepaid), advanced electronic signature services (FID5B), the Pida Cheque check-authorization service, and the Caja Express multi-bank cash service. By the mid-2020s, 5B positioned itself as the central infrastructure layer for Guatemala's financial ecosystem—serving banks, fintechs, cooperatives, and digital wallets—processing over 30 million transactions per month and operating Central America's largest ATM network with 2,600+ machines.
