WisdomTree began as a traditional ETF and asset management firm in 1985. Around 2022–2023, it pivoted to launch WisdomTree Prime, a blockchain-native consumer digital wallet and investment app, positioning itself at the intersection of traditional asset management and on-chain finance. The platform uniquely bridges tokenized real-world assets (gold, money market funds), cryptocurrency (BTC, ETH), stablecoins, and a traditional debit card—all underpinned by a partnership stack including Stride Bank, Galileo, Fireblocks, and BNY. The strategic bet is that tokenized RWAs and programmable money will become mainstream consumer finance, and WisdomTree can leverage its asset management credibility to capture that transition.
